You can do tweaks but it will never be what people think it will be. I love Avast in general and this extension in particular. Some are marketed also as tools to help privacy. Mozilla today removed four Firefox extensions made by Avast and its subsidiary AVG after receiving credible reports that the extensions were harvesting user data and browsing histories.From a report: The four extensions are Avast Online Security, AVG Online Security, Avast SafePrice, and AVG SafePrice. Mozilla added several dozen extensions for Firefox to the blocklist on Decemwhich collected user data without disclosure or consent, but Avasts extensions are not on the list. ![]() This extension, however, stores such data in another fashion. The data usually consists of key-words and phrases (namely, in one of my other extensions that also serves a similar anti-spoiler fashion). ![]() As a result, Mozilla immediately disabled all extension listings but did not blacklist them stating that they were talking to.
